FEATURED INTEGRATION PROJECT
CPA La Jolla
- 48 Boviet 260 watt panels
- 4 Simpliphi OES3 LiFePO4 batteries
- 2 Schneider-Electric 600VDC MPPT charge controllers
- 2 Schneider-Electric 6800 watt hybrid battery-based inverters
By integrating the PV stystem with energy storage technology, the battery will reduce demand charges by supporting the load when there is not enough, or no power available from the PV array (morning, evening, cloudy, etc.). It can also be charged at night from the grid when power is cheaper, then discharge in the day when loads and costs are higher.
If the grid fails, the hybrid inverters detect the failure immedi- ately and disconnect from the grid. Critical loads are supported by PV and/or battery power. There is zero delay or momentary loss of power even for a nanosecond. When grid power returns, the hybrid inverters first test it for stability and quality within a programmable set of parameters (voltage and frequency). When qualified, the inverters synchronize and re-connect to the grid resuming "normal" operations.
